Moving the age group up sure would help a boy get his GMA and still benefit
from Youth Groups, I also liked the idea of having them meet on Sundays. What
we used to do was council or tutor the boy for Royal Rangers ( kinda like a
home correspondence course but we were always available) and the boy would be
able to be in the youth group and join us for all Ranger Outings. The boys
that really wanted to earn all the advancements stuck with it and the ones
that didn't still got the bennies from the youth group, and kept ties with
their commanders if they need someone else to talk to without feeling
pressure or hassled.
