*Use the Lt's as "Patrol advisors" they should NOT put a hand to anything
a boy can do...
(*Secret principal- Boys sometimes are trained to be weak.. to fake
illness or to fear work. Put the shovel in his hand tell him how heroic it
is for him to dig,.assign other boys to dig with him and suddenly he will
"turn-too"<G> *If however YOU TOUCH THE TOOL... He will allways come to
you. This allso applies to firecraft or any skill)
You can show 'em but it's better if a boy leader like Sr.Guide does it as
he is a "peer" and the guy you as adult should "promote"...
Many times the reason the boys don't take to the Patrol system is that the
adults don't agree on the rules of the game. *I say we are "playing a game
called... e the best Royal Ranger we can be" and sometimes we need to set
the stage and stand back to let the boys "do it"

> Number of Commanders per age group?
> Reading in my Ranger Manual, I observe that each age group of boys is to have a
>Commander and another Lieutenant Commander for every ten boys.
> I am to read into this that a Lieutenant Commander is for every two patrols since a
>patrol is five to eight boys, or should Lieutenant Commanders be used as Patrol
>Advisors and that the number ten is not correct?
