Hey guys, you are missing the point of chartering.
The mission isn't the issue, nor is our purpose for existence.
The issue in chartering is theology. Just because someone
attends a Promise Keepers convention does not prevent them
from being a cult member. Remember that Promise Keepers, like
Full Gospel Businessmens' Fellowship has Mormons and other cult
members.
The Districts are charged with making sure that chartered Royal
Ranger outposts are teaching the same theology that the General
Council has set forth.
Now we can all bat this around and say that those differences
shouldn't stop a church from having Royal Rangers, but will it
be true? I'd like to know when I go to a Pow-wow or Rendezvous
that the guy next to me is worshipping the same Christ. There
is something fundamentally different in A/G churches that draws
me to them. Isn't there? What drew you to the A/G church you
attend? If a non-A/G church agrees theologically, and its
leadership passes muster, they are welcome to charter and receive
one. If not, well then....
