I agree A#1. I visited a outpost a while back and 2 12 year old boys
were in line to receive their GMA's and they wanted me to present these
two with a Silver or Gold Buffalo. I said don't they have to have the
GMA before they get the Buffalo?
I have a record of All our Rangers. Each Merit/Advancement has a date
and Commander who signed off. I think it is important to have good
records. Using the Royal Ranger Database I can easily track a young
mans development from campouts to advancements to meetings to Gold Bar
meetings and so on. When they start getting close to the GMA... the
database allows me to do a search and keep them uptodate with all their
personal information in seconds.
The Blue Book that was always supposed to be kept up to date and always
turned up missing was not a viable solution for me. I keep the records
for our outpost on computer and give out quarterly reports to the Outpost
Commanders and reports at the Leaders Meetings. Anyone who has a Win95
Computer I ask them if they want a CD with the data on it.
The boys get a kick out of being on the most outings and it helps to keep
people accountalble.
Last year our outpost had over 393 people on outings and 13390 hours on
outings other then Wednesday nights.
I hope to help remeidy this situation with the Free Database. God has
been good to me and I want to bless others if they want the blessing.
