All,
I just wanted to share that tonight I had 3 new boys visit the outpost. I
was amazed at what God is doing. Two boys came tonight for my Pioneers age
group, which is my main group right now and the other one, though I don't yet
have a Challengers age group yet, the other boy was 16. The neat thing is
that the 16 year old had just came here from El Salvador back in November and
doesn't speak that much English yet. He was in the EXPLORADORES Del REY in
El Salvador and wants to do American things like he didn't have the chance to
do while in El Salvador. Tonight, we spent most of the night getting to know
each other and working on his English homework and learning vocabulary. One
of the neatest parts is that my Spanish is about as good as his English. The
Lord is going to teach us how to work together and beat the language barrier.
I also do have the assistance of a person who can translate when the need
arises. I had a blast tonight and I hope that he did too. He walked away
pretty happy when we had the schedule translated for him. The nice thing
that sweetens the whole thing is that God is Good! All the Time! I have
access to materials in Spanish that can help him when I can't use a
translator. We are going to have some fun with him in our outpost as we
learn more. My boys aren't familiar with anyone who isn't their cousin, (all
my boys are all Cousins) so I hope and pray that they will learn by
experience.
Blessings,
Iron Mike
