Here are a "couple" of more gleanings from the GRTS.

Although they somtimes use the age classification it is more designed to be by grade level. ie. K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

Brian said that as of right now there was very little change to the uniform planned. Khakis were still the real uniform. (There was some questions as to what how the boy's rating would be displayed since the new system is almost entirely patches and ribbons and medals.)

Every year was a circular advancement/rotating schedule. For example kindergarten was Track of the Wolf. With 1 patch/rating per quarter and if the boy gets all four quarters (little patches) then he gets the bog patch (the wolf), then first grade would be Track of the Lion and second grade, Track of the Elk.

Older boys would have a schedule that was both circular and linear. That strange phrase means that there would be a rotating schedule but when a boy completed a quarter's work, he would get the first patch/advancement in a series. There were Class A and B ribbons and medal for every year's completed work.

All ribbons and medals were shown displayed on awards vests for all age groups.

ALL THIS WAS A "DRAFT".

200+ merits

LTC modules were you could take a module that applied to you needs. LTC modules would be offer in a variety of formats. The goal is to make it easier to get leaders trained thus better retention of leaders.

Written cirriculum that would totally outline every meeting. A leader could pick up a book and have a complete lesson plan with all the source material so he could learn the material just before teaching it if neccesary. Possibly in loose leaf format so it could be more easily modified/corrected through the years.

No talk of scraping (or improving) the Patrol method. It is after all the biblical method and would be hard to scrap if we are to do things right Duane.

The shell is to be ready by the National Council and then the 5 (I think) committees are to start filling in the shell. The goal is to have a nation-wide class for all sectional commanders (and up I suppose) in the Spring of 2002 and to try to implement in the field by Fall of 2002.

There are probably more things, but I owed you a report and was overdue. I will go through the slides again in the near future and see what I have forgotten.
