I personally was alienated by Mr. McCain. He shot off his mouth doing the
very thing that he was complaining about. I am not normally a bandwagon
person who is a follower of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell but I didn't feel
it was an attack against those men in particular, it went deeper than that,
no I'm not a fan of Bob Jones either, I felt that McCain's remarks were aimed
Christians in general not just those two men. I feel that with words like
that that yes he is being just as divisive as he says he isn't. Those are
fighting words. I feel that my beliefs as a Christian were attacked and I
have lost my interest in supporting him. These men are all claiming ties to
some denomination somewhere, but they are all politicians. I believe that
Christ would shine a little more than He is if all of these candidates were
really serious about their denominational claims. Al Gore claims to be a
Southern Baptist, I have a hard time believing that though because of his
position and the position of the Southern Baptist Convention it appears to be
contradictory to me. Bush is a United Methodist.
I believe that though politics affect us all and the people that we
select to be the country's leaders is important, we need to go with our
hearts lead us. Rangernet is not really the forum to discuss politics and if
we continue to discuss politics here, we are getting a little off topic. Our
Main concern needs to be on the kids that we minister to. Let's not let our
political concerns cloud that effort.
May the best candidate win,

Iron Mike
