Subject: RE: [RR] Girls in Royal Rangers in the USA?
OK I am going to put my neck out on this right here and right now.
I am against missionette and rangers becoming 1 group
here is my reasons.
1) Boy's here are at a delicate age from about 9 to 14 years old.
The boys would be goofing off more trying to impress the girls
that are sitting right next to them. They would be flirting
with each other the whole time they would be at camp together
and during this time when we are trying to reach the child in
a way that you could never do at home. The whole part of Ranger
camp (POW WOW) is to reach them would be lost. The fooling
around and flirting going on during the service would be lost
chance for a boy to hear the Gospel.
2) The Missionettes have the choice to go camping and outdoors things
Just like Rangers do. Allot of the Sponsor's don't take advantage of
This. I have 2 daughters that are in the Missionettes 1 is in Stars
and the other is in friends and the one in Friends would like to go
camping and things like we do in Rangers but Missionettes will not
take them out. I remember when I was a Pioneer and a Trailblazer
(Los Angles, CA 76-79) and going with my mother to Missionette training nights and
helping the commanders teach the Missionette Sponsors Camping Skills.
It was fun for me to help my mom set up a tent. She did not need to
learn how to cook or clean dishes but this was around for them back
then why cant they do it now.
3) I would like to see that maybe we could start to work together more
for the same reason. Like having them working on pinewood derby cars
and races at the same time. My daughters only get to do the pinewood
derby because they work on the cars at home with me. Our Missionettes
sponsors (Not all) want anything to do with rangers. Here I go out on
the limb right here. I would like to possibly see an FCF in Missionettes.
Where the FCF in Missionettes can get together with Ranger FCF for a
Large FCF gathering once a year. Like a Second Ranger Camp(POW WOW).
That's my story and I am Sticking to it.
