What about Cherry Creek Reservoir? Do they have a suitable spot you could
reserve?
Another suggestion for larger groups is the Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch.
During the main Summer camping season, they are pretty much dedicated to
BSA camping, but they are open to Royal Ranger groups before & after the
BSA rush.
We have our family camp at Union Reservoir, near Longmont, renting a few
adjacent camping spots, and that might work for you, too, if you don't mind
the drive, and it is a bit less "in the city" than Cherry Creek reservoir,
but still close.
