Work has been very slow today and I have been in "planning mode" ...
For the past 8 years, we have had a father&son campout every summer. Boys
and men look forward to it and it sometimes draws some "non-ranger" boys. I
enjoy seeing boys spending time with their fathers on these weekends.
Our church has a lot of boys that have no fathers, and lots of girls that
have no mothers. I have been considering a way to reach this special group
of kids/parents without having an "adopt a child" campout.

I am considering having a family campout this summer. A Friday/Saturday
campout where the whole family is invited and encouraged to attend.
There should be some emphasis on considering! I have not approached the
pastor about this yet - not sure what his reaction will be.
Has anybody ever done a family campout? What did you do? What do you
think?
*** This will NOT replace the father&son campout! ***
