I just visited the website you are refering to on screen 4. Item 4.
Thus my question
> > 2. Screen 4 Royal Rangers without camping?
That impacts alot of stuff from the National Camporama Right down to the
Local Outpost Campouts. If they don't camp then I wouldn't even call it
Royal Rangers. Might as well give them a sash and change their color to
Navy Blue. How about naming them Missioneers? Total different animal
then Royal Rangers. Take camping out of the picture and they are
throwing the baby out with the bath water. Camping is the vehicle we use
to Reach, Teach and Keep boys for Christ.
Brothers this weekend I will be attending a Commanders Conference that
will be teaching us the ideas of this new update to the Royal Ranger
Program. Pray for me. If allowed I will ask some good questions
there. I just got my Sectional Commanders Uniform all in order and it
has some of my blood on it.. Part of me doesn't want to give it up for a
vest with patches on it. I will take my field kaki uiform with some
dirt on it any day!
Sunday morning Pastor opened a plastic sack and pulled out a pair of
boys jeans covered with dry stiff mud and explained they were left in
church by one of the Royal Rangers who had been on the weekends campout.
He said one thing I got to say for them...they stand on their own. That
is Boys. That is Royal Rangers.
3. The outdoor theme will remain a strong emphasis, but the curriculum
will be broadened to include a variety of other subjects.
4. Develop flexible programs (circular advancement) without making
camping a requirement.
