Dear Kelly:
I was thinking about the Ranger Emblem as a compass about a week or two ago, also.
I was going to write a devotion on it but didn't have the time to get it started. It would have required a lot of  research into scripture which I am capable and willing to do. I had to take care of other priorities first, much of it being Ranger stuff.
I am glad that God has lead your husband to do this.
Please could you keep me informed as to how this devotion series works? I could use some clues as to how to do this.
Maybe tou should try to write a book using the ranger Emblem as points on a compass and how it relates to our journeys in life.
I know of a couple of songs that compare life to a journey to the promised land.
Bill Monroe wrote a song called The Old Crossroads and there is another mountain song called the Poor Wayfaring Stranger. I know them by heart as i have sung them to myself several times and listened to the songs even more times.
May the Lord be with you on this endeavor.

I had made a comment about a week ago to y husband how if you lok at the
emblem it has the appearance of a compass.  Then when you add the meaning
behind the points you know it is a compass, as each point is a point of
direction.

So last night he gave a devotion on this to our new outpost.

Also he has been teaching on Amos for two weeks on chapter one verse one the
herdman from Tacoa (sp?).  The first week was on how Amos was a "pioneer" and
this week on how the first two blue points were embodied by Amos.  He was
Alert.  Chris asked the boys what he would have to be alert for mentally
spiritually etc.  The boys had some really good answers.

Our new boys seem very receptive.  We are excited and continually try to
think of how to get up to speed.

God Bless
Kelly
