Casting lots is not the same as gambling! Casting lots was used as a sign,
for the choosing of one way or another. When the clothes of Jesus were
"gambled" amongst the soldiers it was only to see who got to take them. When
the men on the ship with Jonah cast lots it was to find the person responsible
for the great storm. When the disciples cast lots to choose a replacement for
Judas, no one "bought" into the pot, there was no losers, just a decision that
they felt was from God. So, don't confuse casting lots with the Bible reference
to gambling
