In 1775 the British started gun control in the colonies. I believe it
was Boston where they collected all the powder and ball they could under
the pretext of safety or such. When they were finished then they
attempted to subdue, fortunately enough people mistrusted and kept arms
and changed their intent. Again this info is from an NRA article and I am
hazy on some details. The Jist of the article had to do with registration
of guns. I think it was Jefferson who said a government that doesn't
trust it s citizens with guns itself is not to be trusted.
