No. That is not true. I'll try to translate a text from the magazine
"Informationen zur politischen Bildung - Der Nationalsozialismus"
(Informations for political education - the national-socialism) wich is
edited by the german Federal Bureau for Political Education:
'In early 1943 the ghetto of Warszaw, established in 1940 and crammed with
about 400.000 people, was still sheltering about 70.000 Jews. As they knew
what would be their fate, they decided to do a desperate deed. Commanded by
an active minority they prepared themselves for resistance against a further
"evacuation" by theft of weapons and building bunkers. When the SS wanted to
enforce the final "evacuation" on April 19th 1943, the Jews started
fighting. For more than one month the dogged defenders showed fight against
the SS-units who were fighting with heaviest armor. It was only the 16th of
May , when the SS-commander in charge J�rgen Stroop was able to announce the
end of this huge operation by the blowing-up of the synagoge.'
This thing with 5 or 6 weapons happened in January 1943. But for one month
of fightings against SS-units (which were the german elite troops) fighting
with heaviest armor, you'll need mor than 5 or 6 weapons. The balance of the
insurrection was: 16 dead and 85 injured SS-men on the german side. The Jews
lost about 10.000 fighters.
