*Several of the Ranger merits are earned by involvement in outside
activities to the Outpost. This was thought to aid in blending a Rangers
life with school and after school activities.

What we need in Rangers is a greater sence of *Sportsmanship...
and fair play! Asking for "fairness" is fine, but what about the greater
good gained by particapation rather than passive watching of a team
as you propose?

Here's some Sportsmanship ethic to think about!

TEN COMMANDMENTS OF SPORTSMANSHIP

1.Thou shalt not quit.

2.Thou shalt not dream up lame excuses.

3.Thou shalt not brag about winning.

4. Thou shalt not become a rotten loser.

5.Thou shalt not take a short cut to the rules, as Honor forbids such conduct.

6. Thou shat not bite off  more than what you are willing to chew.

7.Thou shouldst be ready to give a open handshake and a smile.

8.Thou should never under estimate an opponant or over estimate thyself.

9.Remember that the game is the main thing, and thou should allways try
to make the main thing, the main thing.... and he who thinketh otherwise is a
"mucker" and no true sportsman<G>

10. Honor the game thou playest, for he who playeth the game straight
and hard, wins even when he loseth!

All,With the execption of Baseball. All the sports merits reqs. a Jr. High or High School letter. I don't think this is being fair to Pioneer wanting to earn the Football merit ect. .Couldn't National waver the letter req. for Pioneers ,and, have the Pioneers attend a pro, collage or High School game to take place of the letter? Later,Noel"Spirit Rider"Bellhttp://www.spiritof76.50megs.com
