I believe that participation in a sports league, i.e. Pop Warner, etc. would qualify a Pioneer if he were that interested in the merit.
 
Otherwise, wait for High School.
 
As Duane so deftly put it this is a participation merit. Just as you have to participate in a Wilderness campout as a part of Wilderness Survival Merit. Or to earn the First Aid Merit you have to attend and pass the Red Cross First Aid standard course.
 
Now if you want a new merit I'm behind you for writing up the Arm Chair Quarterback Merit ;-)

All,
With the execption of Baseball. All the sports merits reqs. a Jr. High or High School letter. I don't think this is being fair to Pioneer wanting to earn the Football merit ect. .
Couldn't National waver the letter req. for Pioneers ,and, have the Pioneers attend a pro, collage or High School game to take place of the letter?
