I think that's fairly simple to answer: What makes us un-attractive to many
of the lost is 1) our insistence on doing the right thing, even though it
may be
hard; 2) our insistence on working and earning a living, not getting it handed
to you by the government; 3) our insistence on a reasonably strict moral
standard
that doesn't pander to the fringes. There's more, but those are the ones that
pop to the surface. If compassion means compromising, then many of us probably
do lack some compassion. Many of the lost equate a handout with 'Christian
Love'
and it just ain't so. And when we are not forthcoming with the handout, they
get turned off.

Many of us in Rangers have compassion for the lost and we actively try to
get them
into the program and get them saved. And we can help them some. But the
age-old
adage is still this: "Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day. Teach a
man to
fish, and he can eat for a lifetime." Many of the lost simply aren't
interested
in learning to fish as long as someone will keep giving him fish...
