In the early 1900's christianity was a dominate force in our culture. If a
woman got pregnant out of wedlock she went out of town for nine months and
gave the baby up for adoption. If someone was there were maybe a
handful of people in thier whole life who knew it. No one dared talk bad
about a minister. We didn't get up in the morning and wonder whether or not
we should go to church today, we just got ready.
In the 20's things were going good. The market was booming, cash was
flowing, America was now the leader of the industrialized world. We didn't
need God because we had all we needed already. People like Dr. Spock
encouraged us to become "free thinkers" and to question the validity of the
morals and values we had held to for so long. "I" took the place of "Us" and
the seeds that sprouted the "Me" generation were planted.
In the 30's and 40's the rug was pulled out from under our heels. The
anti-christ was rearing his ugly head in the name of socialism and marxism
and the World fought round 2 of it's bout with him. Our wives and mothers
went to work and never came back. The kids raised themselves. Independence
and the taste for it led to feminism, which led to the "right to do what I
want with my body" which incidentally included ing the baby there.
In the 50's we erected the altar to the TV god and all bowed down to
worship him 6-8 hrs a day. Christianity was still a force but not a dominate
force. There were other ideas and opinions we were introduced to that tugged
at the fibers of our value system. Satan took back his role of praise and
worship leader of the universe and used it for himself, in Rock-n-roll.
In the 60's the church laid down and let the devil take God out of our
schools and all of a sudden we were no longer "training up a child in the
way that he should go". "Revolution" was the word and we were going to be
heard. Government and the "establishment" were our enemies, we were not to
trust anyone over 30, and organized religion was a lie in the wind.
In the 70's it was becoming ok to be , a christian was a Jesus freak,
and we quit getting married before we started living together. Those of us
who did make our life legal made it illegal just as quick, as we
plummetted to a 50% divorce rate.
The 80's gave birth to generation x and we began to reap what our parents
sowed. Committment is a thing of the past. People used to work for one
company for 30-40 yrs. Now the average changes jobs every few years,
going after the few extra dollars. Used to be that if you played for the
Yanks, you were a Yank for life. Now, it was whichever team paid the most.
In the 90's we quit aborting babies, we just them when they're born,
it's all legal- nothing is sacred. If you're a christian you're a hateful
bigot who has no compassion. You have no respect for the rights of the
people, and you're destroying the earth, our mother.
The attitude we once reserved for s and communists: Beatings, disgust,
pure hatred, is now unleashed on these "Christians". Janet Reno defines the
typical militant, istic group to keep your eye out for: "Those who
live in a rural setting, home school thier children, and espouse deep
religious or christian ethics."
Christianity is now a minority, which will not be tolerated for much
longer. The next step is persecution. Look at the history of the church and
the nations that now persecute thier christians. America is the only nation
that was born in christianity. All others were something else first and
Christianity won over.
When this starts, then we, the church, will do what we were supposed to do
once again, just like we did in 1620. Just like we did in ad 70.

>Last night pastor Cody quoted Ms. Ellen Parsley (World Harvest Church
>mother
>of Rod Parsley) from an altar call she made not long ago..."Your vote is
>not
>about the money (jobs), your vote is about the babies (abortions). If you
>voted for a candidate who is pro-abortion then you as a Christian must come
>down to the altar and repent because the blood of the babies is on your
>hands."
>
>Opened my eyes and made me think of how responsible we are for how we
>affect
>this nation.
>
>Another quote I heard I believe from Chuck Coleson was he quoting
>statistics
>from a poll as to number of Christians "there are over 67,000,000
>Christians" and their purpose "what kind of noticeable impact have they
>made? Not noticeable"
>
>Scary. My immediate thoughts were --What if we weren't here, it would be a
>whole lot worse than it is now!
>
>Now I think that is pretty sad. If we are the salt of this earth that the
>Word says we are, we should be (with 67,000,000) making hugely noticeable
>impact on this nation/world. I am ashamed of myself for my lack of impact.
>Not for bragging rights "look how many I got saved today" no, for not
>having
>the fire, the boldness and the shamelessness needed for Jesus Christ and
>going out there and making a change. I have had so many ideas on how to
>make changes and what have I done with them? I know those ideas were not
>mine they were blessings that I have not used. The way that statistic made
>me feel is like I was lukewarm and about to be spit out of the mouth of
>God.
>
>
>It is time to make impact. I will be putting this to the forefront of my
>lessons in our meetings. I don't know yet how I'll do it but I will pray
>and hope that God will give me the words to get these boys up and out and
>making impact otherwise there will be a lot more blood on my hands that I
>will have to answer for.
>
>I was reading in I think it was Jeremiah 29. God was talking about the sin
>he saw and heard and at the end he says "I know it and am a witness to
>it,"
>declares the LORD". That really scared me having the Lord be a witness
>against me. I started praying "Lord, let me be the type of person that
>your
>son Jesus can advocate not that you can witness against." There was more,
>but that was between he and me.
>Don't know why I wrote this, just felt compelled. Hope it blesses someone.
