I would also like to remind everyone that twice a bill banning partial
birth abortion passed President Clinton's desk and both times he vetoed
it. The president has the power of the pen.

    That is correct.  But you fail to mention that whomever is appointed
has to be approved by the Senate and they are now split 50-50.  President
Elect Bush can appoint but the Senate can say NO.  It has happened in my
lifetime.
