Hi Günter,
> Do you not have to use glue to keep it from falling out ?
Normally, you don't. The leads we used are 2mm in diameter, just as the hole
you drill. So you will need a calm hand to put the lead in there but if you
once put it there it fits quite tight.
> Also, would the glue not help in filling the space around the lead in case

You would have to fill all the hole with glue to achieve this effect. If you
open the hole to more than 2 mm in diameter you will have to do it this way.
But it works better if you keep that hole as tight as possible.
> Have you ever tried it this way ?
Yes, we did. In the beginning we opened all the holes to more than 2 mm as
it is much easier to put the lead in there. But sometimes the lead broke
somewhere in the middle of the pencils. The front part fell out of the
pencil and the rest was deep in there. So you would have to either cut off
the pencil until you reach the rest of your lead or drill the hole once
again and put a new lead in there.
If the hole lead fits tight it may also break, but it will never break
somewhere deep within the pencil but on the outside so you will just have to
sharpen the pencil (as you also would with a "normal" pencil).
> What do you mean by "sharpen the branch around the hole" ?
to sharpen a pencil = einen Stift (an)spitzen
the same with the branch, isn't it?
Always prepared for Jesus.
