Could it not just be that whoever decided on AOG teachings simply went back to
the Word? I read a book years ago (I think it was called the Pilgrim Church)
which pointed out that history is always written by the winners. Church
history has been written by the Roman Catholics and mainstream Protestants.
However, there have been moves of the Holy Spirit and other bodies which have
existed which were not heretics but did not conform to the rules laid down by
Rome, Luther or Calvin. One such body was the Moravians who were instrumental
in "energizing" John Wesley, the founder of the Methodists.
