I *advanced all right.. kept score as well..
But one night I came out into the Hall of the church with my
NTC beret, Uniform with medals and my ->A No.1<- Wilderness
beard and hair-do<G>
A brother mentioned that I resembeled a Fat Fidel Castro..
Communist presendent of Cuba!
That gave me some thoughts as to "Keeping the main thing-
the main thing<G>" You see.. I looked at my reflection..
and these Men who didn't know what NTC was fairly judged
my appearance<G> *I had to agree<G>
I had invested in being a Wilderness whitness to the boys,
and my Uniform didn't fit my FCF "persona".. the result was a signal
un-intended being sent to "others".

Of course, you might add that if You care and the boys don't...
this leads to a parting of the ways<G> The boys don't want to
compete against a Man. They know we have ways to gain fame and aclaim
outside the OP with Pastor and the pew sitter crowd<G> We might
Golf or smooze it up with Bro.HighBuck<G>
That isn't *MY calling... I feel we should build-up the boys into
Leadership silently.
A "leader" is best when he does his work silently, when you barely know
he exists... He don't require aclaim or obedience to his "Command voice"
but his presence acts to build MORALE.
The existence of MORALE in the OP is his reward, in a real sence it is
his goal or aim.

Amen!
-Of Course you can *attend all that, do nothing and be a bump on a
log<G>
Leadership is a pro-active duty. You may become 'trained but you have
not
"Become a Leader" untill you have served!

Amen!
However, In doing these things and not keeping score, is no vice!
In Honesty.. Running a "perfect outpost" is a full time job<G>
I got one of those allready, to feed 'ole GMA #3911 and keep him
in Van's off the wall sneekers<G> On the list of priorities...
Outpost record keeping requires a sedate organized mind, and is
a important duty that I let slip.
Like Cdr.Scott Waddle of the USS GREENVILLE a Commander is
responsible even if the deligated person slips... so your point
is well taken. I'll take it and file it behind "knowing" every
boys name<G> *That is ahead of "politic'n" with the Parents and
fileing a monthy activity report for the Childrens pastor!<G>
