I went though NTC back in Early 80's.  It is something I will never forget.  I learned lot more than ever expected.  It was fun, even with Knotty.  I don't think that they mistreat you in anyway, if they do you need to get some new advisers.  The training was fantastic, the classes were well prepared.  It was a total camping experience.  There were things there that I thought would never happen in a campout, but though the years I have found that everything they have taught has happened in our Outpost.  It's not easy by no means.  I have heard people complaining about it and wander if they have ever had a boy wake up at 2:30 in the morning sick as a dog wanting mommy or Daddy?  Or the Dad that grabbed a Iron Skillet without a pot holder.  This is just some things they teach.  I would not still be in Ranger if it was not for the training in LTC and NTC.  If you are complaining about it, find out really were you heart is.  It's tough but very informative, unless they changed a lot in 15 yrs

All,

I thought NTC was to teach camping skills useing the patrol method. What is the point spending $180 for a four day training camp when the majorty of time is spent writeing word themes or with knotty?
Just my 2 cents.
