*Input Requested... stand by<G>

"Effectiveness" in Training is used as the reason
for former USMC DI's crossing the line to "instruct"
recruits of the Vietnam era with abuse. Thanks Gunny!

www.rleeermy.com

At the height of the build-up the 12 week training was
reduced to 8 weeks while the total volume of processed
personal was raised from a 75 man platoon to 120+..

*It is true that the use of martial tactics can be
called "efficient and effective" but *reflect please
on our our Royal Ranger "mission" and you will see
a great difference in the desired outcome of training.

If! The desired outcome is to be an *experience...
compressed into a limited time frame,
Then it may be proper to have a script and have the
Staff participants "act out" a prescribed course
of action that leads to repeteable results.

However.. *If the training is to be used as:
Junior Leadership Training... *The I ask you
what the outcome should be? (*Trained Junior
Leaders?)

I'm not in charge, nor do I play one at NRRC<G>

*But I do desire "Trained Junior leaders" and that
means a boy may elect to use his stye of leadership
under the supervision of others in a manner he
chooses.

The short term effect may not be seen a "efficient"
or effective.. but the long term positive results
are gained by trial and error and *reflection on
how the boys can find leadership among themselves.

I therefore *prefer in every way a Boy to a man as
"leader" Understand... I beleve that Leadership is
the outcome of the process of raiseing Morale and
bringing togather the *spirit of individuals to
give of themselves to the betterment of the group
goals.

Among the path, Men may *Council, *Instruct...
*Preach.. *Entertain and provide strong role
models.

*Is this too "wacky" for general support?
