Jim, First off you do not need a qualified person to teach the firearm safety merit. the lessons are structered so that any leader with a lick of sense and teach it.
Second, the firearm safety meit is found in the Blue Merit Reference book. If you can get a copy of the Daisy Training book the first three chapters cover the material for the merit. This merit can be taught in under three hours depending on the number of boys. I will double check my copy of the Daisy book and let you know exactly what chapters need to be covered. By the way, the Firearm Safety, Marksmanship (Blue Merit) and Advanced Marksmanship (Green Merit) merits were addapted from the Daisy material with their permission. So as I mentioned in the earlier email completion of the 10 lession Daisy course covers the requirements for all three merits.
