Subject: RE: [RR] Patrol System is it
dieing out?
The
patrol is alive and well if you use it in your outpost.
Yearly Advancement requires Leadership time.
Leadership opportunities have been expanded with the inclusion of Outpost
Chaplin's Assistant, Outpost Scribe, Outpost Scout and Outpost Quartermaster
found in chapter 6 "You and your Outpost" Adventure Rangers Handbook. Ranger
Kids have green Guide and Asst. Guide bars (Chapter 5, Ranger Kids Handbook).
Discovery Rangers have Red Senior Guide, Guide and Asst Guide bars (along with
three of the above special leadership roles) found in chapter 3, Discovery
Rangers Handbook. Adventure Rangers use the gold bars and Expedition Rangers
use Silver bars.
So,
the patrol system is encouraged in each age group and the leadership roles
expanded as the Ranger ages.
As
for the fire sale <hee, hee>, these are items that probably did not
sell well and being good business people, GPH is reducing the inventory to
free shelf space.
God
Bless and Happy New Year to all,
Bob

With the new program have you noticed the
patrol system dieing out?
It makes sense as the older boys who are
supposed to be leading the ("troop" according to the National Website) are
in "uth".
The reason I emphasized troop was it is a
boyscout term and not found in Royal Rangers...except on the national RR
website.... I picked it up on a letter from a Dist. Men's Ministries
Director after 10 years of experience with Royal Rangers etc.... I
made the same mistake the first year in Royal Rangers...until I was
enlightened about Troop-Outpost-Patrol differences....
GPH is still selling discontinued Patrol Flags
and patches but the new program has no real place for it ... or have I
missed something?
Why have a Sr. Guide and Patrol guides Asst.
Guides but no place for them in the program or
patches...standards..ect.? Questions...I ask.
Can someone put me on the path to understanding
here?
