I had heard about Petra also. They have been playing great music for a long time. These bands in particular are simular in that they started playing something that was "out of the box" of CCM of their eras of time and they were known for having a strong faith in both their lyrics and lives.

Additionally, Petra has also signed off and their ministry has also touched many in it's 33 year existence. As a Professional Christian Disk Jockey, I can honestly say that though we will miss future performances by these groups, the Lord has other things planned for these band members and it is my prayer that though they may not be together as a group anymore that they will live in our hearts and minds. We remember them by playing their music and honoring what their music was about. It was all about God.
