Tweak on my brother! The Carbon Copy feature from [email protected] to
Encouragement and discussion for Royal Rangers had me wondering what was going
on for a little while. I was also automaticly unsubscribed at one time when my
mail server went through a upgrade and were having some teck problems. I just
resubscribed as you recomended. Just found that each time something like this
happens we loose folk and some of those folk are thicker skinned than me and
you and they don't know what to do to get back on the list.

I have had a few folk in Springfield that were being filtered due to the CATV
company had Rangernet on their spam list. I told them to call the CATV company
up and if they didn't want to allow this mail to flow to them they could switch
to AT&T broadband so they could get their Somo Rangernet mail. GRIN! Funny
thing is it started working for them. The CATV Company at first told them they
needed to talk to you to submit a letter to get removed from the spamers
list...They did what I told them to do and boom bamb baby its' working again!!

The list server is doing a great work here in Southern Missouri. We do
appreicate your good help behind the sceens getting it all to work. They think
I am the genious....I tell them it's really MPJ! Just another Jesus Pleasing
Rompin Stomping Royal Rangering Missionary Bible Translator Software and many
hat wearing Missionary whom I have never met face to face but know him quite
well due to Rangernet and I have a lot of respect for.

My Missionary brother in law and his family are coming back from their 3rd term
of 4 years each from the Phillipeins in 22 days and they wlll be with us for a
year. They bought the house 3 doors down yesterday site unseen (well my wife
and brother in law and inlaws were the eyes)..(Missionaries have funny ways of
doing things as you well know...grin) My wife and her brothers and family are
very close.

Thanks MPJ for all you do for us and our Lord and King Jesus!

Poke on, brother, poke on! <big grin>

There is actually a reason I was poking at the server. I found out there were
some people threatening this mail server with blacklisting. Actually, it was
blacklisted by AT&T for a little bit, then some AOL people started to complain
about nothing. Anyway, the longer footer is designed to help people (especially
AOL system administrators) to tell that this is not spam. AOL requires a
physical address on bulk mail messages to qualify for white listing. They also
demand a phone number, but I don't care to put one on every message that goes
out. You can find mine with the information given at the footer if you are a
good detective, though, with the right three mouse clicks. Anyway, I'm just
trying to keep the mail servers open for the many ministry-related mailing
lists that are on them. It is also helpful to people to know which of their
many email addresses they are subscribed as when doing mailing list management,
so having that in the footer is kind of nice. I also made the bounce threshold
for automatic unsubscribe action more sensitive (another one of AOL's demands),
so people may have to resubscribe themselves if they let their mailbox get
overstuffed or some other strange thing causes their mail to bounce.

If your email gets unsubscribed, don't take it personally. Just go to
http://lists.rangernet.org/mailman/listinfo/rangernet and sign up, again. If it
doesn't seem to work, try using another address (like a free webmail account or
something). It might be that the ISP you were using got confused as to what was
and was not spam.

Of course, Mark, if you want to tweak, go ahead, but beware that allowing
digest mode messages doesn't mix well with full customization, so you might
have to call for help if you turn that on.
