I'm certainly not saying switching away from the public servers is a good 
idea.

The kind of hash-based scoring razor does really works best when 10,000 people 
rather than 1,000 contribute, and only gets better with more users.

Running your own server won't help all that much in the way of spam filtering.  
However, I do think the razor system could benefit from some sort of 
distributed scoring.  If it is really taking 10 seconds to hash perhaps 60 
kbytes of text then razor has hit its scalability limit, and needs work.
