Over the years I've pinned any number of "excusables" to the taskbar
without issue.
Well, some I've lived to regret.

Karen,
Right click on the desktop icon and select “Pin to taskbar” and the
excusable will be pinned to the taskbar. To remove it, right click on
the icon on the task bar and select “Unpin from taskbar” and that is
all there is to it.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Putting RBase shortcut on taskbar
Computers are Windows 7 Professioal. We have a desktop shortcut that
points to the RBase 9.5 exe which is running from the server. We
cannot drag it to the taskbar. As soon as it gets in there, we get the
"no" symbol. Taskbar is not locked. We can move other desktop icons
down there. Their IT guy says you cannot move shortcuts that point
to programs running on the server. Is that true?
