A bit more than a book, but it’s right there when you need it and you can cut and paste the code running it side by side with R:Base. The on line resources listed at the bottom of the post here, in particular Razzak/s FTE series is invaluable as well. Are all the wrong dates off by exactly a century? If not, you will have to make your WHERE clause more complicated, and do this more than once.
