Hello! This is painful to admit since I have done this at the R>prompt more than once. But now I have forgotten how. I have a big database from a colleague of mine with medieval prises that is going to be printed. It starts with three small text columns for each row for setting the date of the price. Let us translate them into Year Month Day, although it is not something that always can be converted into a Date format like 1471-10-10. Due to the source material it can be 1471-1472 etc. In my notes I have found that Gunnar Ekblad once teached me that a plus [+] does not add a space, while an ampersand [&] does. But what command should be used to add month and day to the year column? UNION? Y s Bo Franzén University of Stockholm
