The plodding way I got around this was to rename an instance of the
column to some name, redefine it, rename the other instances to the same
name then name them back to what they should be. Then again, I didn't
have 60 instances. I'd like to know a smarter way to do this too.

not, does anyone have an easy way to do this?
My workaround might be downloading the database structure and data and
changing the length there and reloading the whole thing. Any help or
advise will be appreciated.
