Hi All! Rbase seems to support the COPY command, but without any parameters. Sure would be nice if it would support the XCOPY command, so you could certain kinds of archiving within Rbase. Right now you would have to do a ZIP XCOPY to make sure you are only overwriting older files, or do a lot of coding to check files for dates before overwriting them.
So...how bout a request for support of XCOPY? RBASE has been my true companion for 18 years (approx) and will be for 18 more! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Bob Castanaro Sent: den 20 december 2002 19:47 To: RBASE-L Mailing List Subject: [RBASE-L] - PC Magazine Article Just read the database roundup in PC magazine and was quite disappointed that R:Base didn't get even a sidebar mention (I think it did in last year's issue). Looking at some of the other products, the only thing that I could see on the surface that R:base doesn't have was that one product was supposedly web enabled by itself. I know we have the Oterro / Tango solution and at least for my company, I will be trying to learn more about it this year. As far as the rest of the article, I was glad to see Access was not the editor's choice again. It may be full featured but cannot compare to the development ease that the current version of R:base has, and as Razzak's comparison notes, you have to use a 3GL to really do the fancy stuff. Let's hope RB7 is next years choice.
