Power settings off so that's out. As far as network platform we are on a NT Raid 5 Cluster Server with redundant servers. Would there be problem with 95/98 and xp operating systems cross communicating on this network?

If so, check the energy saving of the laptop, they may be setup to shutdown the hard disk after a few minutes of activity, in which case, when accessed, it will take a while for the drive to wake up and come up to speed before you can start the application; same thing when you exit the application. Also, if you are using Windows networking, sometimes XP and 95/98 have problems communicating, and thus the long delays. Javier Valencia, PE President Valencia Technology Group, L.L.C. 14315 S. We are currently using Rbase v6.5+ 1.839xRT03 The start up file is below: path r:\rbasecfg\sblaptop;c:\rbdos65;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND r: cd\rbase\rbdata rbase -c -r break.app Once initiated the application will hang for 60-120 seconds or longer and then finally go into the application. This can also happen on exit. When exiting and this hang occurs the application works great but if anyone else exits Rbase to windows also they hang until the xp machine releases. This does not occur 100% of the time or every day. It is intermittent. We are using mostly windows 95 (98%) in our current operation but as we put in new machines we are having to up grade to newer windows versions. In addition to the 95 machines we have 4 98 and 1 xp machines. Stephen Breen Director of Sales and MIS CDI Services, Inc.
