Mike Bill and others
Fully agree something is going on.
It does not bother me to much at the moment since I use ODBC instead of
gateway to link to Excel And excel seems to read c:\windows\odbc.ini and
that file contains the proper entries. Is this not an MS issue???

Whoops.  I spoke waaaaay too soon.  Any new datasource added, regardless of
the Driver selected
(Access, RBase, Oterro, etc) Does not show up in the OdbcAdmin dialog.  The
registry entries are
there though...
