Renig comment.. Mike was on the money with 15 char for netbios systems, so any mixed - (has Pre-2000 OS) only read the first 15 char. Sorry for the 16 thingy comment
If you had a machine that had the name. stevewills-myxp1 and stevewills-myxp2 then Netbios would get really confused cause it reads both as stevewills-myxp
