Dennis:
A couple of suggestions:
Are you using their browser or are you using MS Explorer; if you are using
their customized browser, there is a good chance that it loads their support
center software even if it is disable in the startup, there may also be a
place (within their software) where you can change this startup option. I
ran into similar problems with SBC/Yahoo and their customized browser and I
got around by using a plain vanilla MS Explorer; you may also consider using
Motzilla's Firefox, once you have a valid connection. You can use any
browser you want.
As far as your mail is concerned, does it allow you to redirect you mail to
a third address? If so, you can open a free account on Hotmail or Yahoo and
have your mail redirected to that account and then you can retrieve your
mail from that account using Eudora.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Off Topic- DSL unhappiness

I have a new DSL service and have had a number of problems.

I dislike programs which take over your PC as though they're the only
software you will ever want to use.... (V#R#Z#N would be the encrypted
name.)

I tried to disable the Online support center which takes forever to load. I
went to MSConfig and clicked off this start up option, but it still rears
its ugly head.

They only support Outlook and Netscape for email and I like Eudora. So, I
am only able to receive email on DSL and must use dail up for outbound.
I've tried all the different SMTP changes and still no luck.

Any help appreciated.

Dennis
