How is data delivered to a 'client'? Is a file share required on the 'client' machine to allow database access?
Dennis, The data is delivered to the R:BASE Client via TCP/IP protocol. There is no file share required "on the client" to allow access to shared database/application files on the Server. In R:BASE C/S:I, when establishing the database/application aliases in the R:BASE Server or R:BASE Server Console, a virtual directory is created, which the R:BASE Client uses, via the TCP/IP protocol. The link between the two is the IP Address and Port Number on the server that is provided to the R:BASE Client. R:BASE C/S:I is currently available as Pre-Purchase Private Beta. Those of you who attended the 2006 R:BASE Developers' Conference in October have seen R:BASE C/S:I live! Very Best R:egards, Razzak.
