Steve - Run these steps before opening the designer: DISCONNECT SET MULTI OFF SET MESSAGES ON SET ERROR MESSAGES ON SET STATICDB OFF CONNECT database
If you're still having trouble opening the designer, I'd guess there is a problem with your RX1 file, and a RELOAD won't fix that. Follow the "How do I get rid of a DBF Table??" thread from yesterday to rebuild the database. If that doesn't fix it, post back here and we'll give you other ideas on repairing it. I'm in Turbo V-8 and am wanting to modify the structure of a table and the designer won't display the table structure for editing; it just hangs on the way in.
