I would like to added 3 Cheers for Rbase. I have a client that we have worked with since 1989 and have had a number of systems including payroll and pension. The payroll handled about 7 thousand people and was broken into 3 payroll types (staff, non staff and senior staff). The each of the field locations had a different way of processing the payroll so we actually had 20 different versions of the payroll. However, the IT department didnt to highly of Rbase and decided to go with People Soft. I think People was bought out twice and became part of Oracle. They brought a system in from the US and tried to install it in Australia. It didnt work. Then they brought it Indonesia and they were suppose to install in six months. It took them 2 years to do it and it cost more than 750 million dollars in software and time charges. I offered to upgrade our system to do the same time for just USd 30 thousand. Now all the updated are handled from Australia and every location is now the same. One of the advantages of Rbase was that we could change a payroll process even a day ahead of the payroll. Now it takes weeks to do it and it is very expensive. I still have the expatriate payroll (six different system) plus the pension system. The Finance Manage wont let Australia touch the Expat Payroll as it would take too long to change.
Just shows why I use Rbase to this day. They say you can teach old dogs new tricks but Rbase has taught me a lot of new trick.
