Most of my clients use two Zebra 2844 printers loaded with 4" and 2.25"
labels. Some have had problems with erratic behavior when they were first
setup. The current Zebra driver for the printer seems to be good. I
haven't had any issues since the beginning of the year.

In one case, I had a problem where the printer would not work with RBASE but
did work with other several other Windows based applications. I use a label
form and custom load the label parameters. I found that I had to set the
label dimensions in RBASE to a smaller size than the actual dimensions of
the label.

I have been using the 2844s for the past 2 1/2 years. To the best of
knowledge none of them have had a hardware failure. Once you get them
running, they are tanks!

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Zebra LP2844 printer driver crashing RBase?

I have a very simple label program I wrote that is used heavily printing
hundreds of small print jobs a day (1 to 100 labels at a time). The
variable form (and RBase 7.6 compiled app) freezes several times a day. I
have tried several different Zebra printer drivers with no improvement. It
happens on several different computers and printers and label forms while
some labels print with never a (reported) problem, but they are not used as
heavily.

Has anybody else had problems with this printer or screen freezes when
printing? Most of the time the labels print, but focus never returns to the
form.
