Hi,

Windows apps and so R:BASE is working as normal on a Mac with Parallels. You
can even use different screen modes (full screen, in a window or integrated)
all working without problems.

There is one thing: If you use some special Windows keys like CTRL Break Esc or
what ever you should do this with Parallels menu. Right click mouse menu is
also not working always as expected.

But I have to say on my demo Apple MacBook Air Windows apps are wokring faster
and more secure than on my previous laptop with Windows.

There is also the advantage to use Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server as OS
in Parallels with use of R:BASE.

If there are some questions, please let me know. I have some Parallels
instances with Windows test environments and also with R:BASE 7.6 and R:BASE
8.0

Marco

  Subject: [RBASE-L] - Subject: Running R:Base 7.5 or 7.6 on MAC s with OS 10
and Parallel Desktop

  Hi all

I have a client that would like to run R:Base (now 7.1, upgrading to 7.5 or
7.6) on MAC workstations using OS 10 and the program "Parallel Desktop". John
at RBTI says they have no experience at their office, but says some of you
have.

If you have run R:Base 7.1, 7.5 and/or 7.6 in such an environment, I'd like
to hear of your experiences and if there are any special steps you needed to
take to make it work.

  Thanks!
