I agree -- printing to a report is one of the hardest things to "get 
right".   You almost have to design a report specifically to print to a file, 
with 
lots of trial and error.   Although I have printed a report to an RTF with 
the ease of editing on, and I was able to edit it with only slightly more 
effort than editing a regular .doc file.  

Don't know how you might be incorporating DOS, but remember that from 
within 7.6 you can Launch the rbdos session, passing in the name of a program 
to 
run to create the .txt file.   Then launch that .txt from within 7.6.   The 
user might not even see it happening ...
