Joan,

You can remap keys using SET KEYMAP.  For instance,

SET KEYMAP [F1] TO [TAB]

... will remap the F1 key to a TAB.  

The problem you face is that the Mac intercepts the keystroke before it gets
to R:BASE.  Try using SET KEYMAP to remap other keys to your liking.

Thank you, Cheryl. I'm using a Mac Pro with the regular keyboard and 
don't have a FN key, since I have the number pad.  I did try different 
combinations with the Shift, Control, Alt/Option and Command keys with 
the F4 and other keys but did not get the result I wanted.  I can't find 
a way to change that F4 function. It brings up the Dashboard in Mac mode 
all the time.

If R:Base could give us an Alt-E to get us to the Edit Menu and E for 
Edit, and maybe I for Insert row, it would be most helpful.
