Joan,

I haven't used a Mac Pro but I would be very surprised if the keyboard was
different from the one I have on my iMac (which has a number pad). When I look
on the Apple website the keyboard they show with a number pad does include the
FN key. The FN key is right below the F13 key and to the left of the HOME key.
Is your keyboard different from that?

I found my list that I mentioned earlier. It's in the very back of the Boot
Camp Manual (which you can download from the Apple Support website). It covers
things like insert, num lock and print screen. There is no other alternative
mentioned to using the FN key with the F1 through F4 keys.

Since this topic is probably of limited interest to the R:BASE list, I'll be
glad to discuss this further by private email if I can help in any way.

Thank you all. It seems the Mac wants to control several of the
function keys to its own purpose. No matter what I tried, it overrides
the key change. I will contact Parallels [not easy to get them] and see
if they can find a solution. I may have to go with the original concept
of working in either PC or Mac mode. I'll keep working on it as time
permits.
