Thanks for your comments Mark. I did some more testing and I have come to the same conclusion as you have so I will keep using Adobe reader via the launch command.

The viewer works fine on small PDF files of 10 - 50 KB but when I hit a file that is 700 KB and larger it takes forever to open (over 30 seconds). When I open the same large file with Adobe PDF reader it opens instantly. Is anyone using the viewer on large files? If so, does it take a long time to open large files?
