Solved my PDF Viewer issue. Followed your suggestions which all
worked, but I kept playing with it. Also went to cut 5 acres of
grass. A great activity where your brain can just wander. Half way
through it struck me that if the black star/rectangle/check box is a
font issue and embed fonts are creating size, change the checkbox to
a DB Label removes the font issue entirely because the stored data
is simply common text in the available fonts. I had used 'Y' and 'N'
as the checked/unchecked text settings. DB Label worked immediately.
Report looked busy, but changing the settings to 'X' and '-' (in
BOLD 10) made the 'X' stand out. The '-' is less obvious, but it
solves a Medicaid documentation issue by having a mark in every report field.
Outcome: black stars and rectangle are gone, file looks perfect in
PDF Viewer and Adobe, the 'X' shows the selected choices, file
prints correctly, and (because the Embed Font pipe is not needed)
the file size stays at 65K. And for the "Duh" moment, reading the
PDF documentation (slowly) shows setting the Open pipe to Off keeps
Adobe closed. Sometime you just have to step away to solve a
problem. Now I have about 300 report check boxes to change. Thanks

Comparatively, all PDF outputs in R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 should be sharp
and compact
as compared to 7.6/V-8 PDF outputs. Not to mention the implementation of *New*
"Enhanced Rich Text", "Enhanced DB Rich Text", and "Enhanced Variable
Rich Text"
controls in reports and the compact PDF outputs.
Upcoming R:BASE eXtreme 9.0 (32/64) Update 1 (Build: 9.0.1.10707) will include
