Marc-

Just a thought here and I DON’T KNOW your agreements w/clients etc…. but
have you ever thought about off-site backups and perhaps having RBase
running this routine twice daily as a service to these people. Give them an
ability to opt out or run as they should.

You could encrypt the data, zip and ftp all with RBase Programs. I bet most
of these b-u’s are kept in house. Great unless somebody steals the server
etc…. A bonus for you is the data is a bit easier to recover and you could
run a routine (if they opted) to try to circumvent any issues before they
have an issue.

Just thinking out loud here. Hope it helps and good luck with Rscope and do
read carefully. I recovered a Db that was pretty messed up. Two days and
you could also if needed ask RBTI to assist.

Sincerely,
Paul Dewey

** Note, since I got rid of one employee, I have NO errors anymore. Funny
how the Db fixed itself, or was it the Db didn't like this person? Not
joking!

Subject: [RBASE-L] - RE: Strange problem?

Hi Bill

Since all data stopped at a certain point in 5-6 tables I think they must
have connected to a backup.  Of course the staff says they ran the Autochk
procedure daily.  I told the doctor, if your staff ran that procedure daily
and the dates of Monday.zip is 1 month old you have major
computer problems,  They should have a 5 day history of backups in the daily
zip files but only 1 was the correct date and of course
it was missing the data.  The other 4 files were weeks old.

Now, I am looking for the Ghost Busters cause there is something strange in
the hood!

Thanks
Marc
